A fifth-generation coffee grower, Alejo Castro Kahle and his family cultivate Volcan Azul on the slopes of the Poas Volcano in Costa Rica. His family’s commitment to excellence in coffee production is paired with the value of environmental conservation. So far they have purchased 1500 ha of rainforest for preservation. In their words, “These facts, not just words, are small actions taken by one family to reduce air contamination and global warming. This is the contribution we want to make to mankind, this is the new awareness we want to inherit to our future generations.”
