Down in the southwest of Colombia, the Cauca Valley faces out onto the Pacific ocean. This valley is a cradle where five rivers run together out of the Colombian Massif – a rugged mountain range - and down to the sea. The soil high up in the mountains is rich and volcanic, and this, combined with the ocean breezes and regular rainfall, creates a lush microclimate where coffee thrives. Each harvest is carefully handpicked and processed locally and Cauca has become renowned for producing mild, rich and sweet coffees, with a distinctive caramel aroma.
